Nutritional Consultations

Pet owners can become overwhelmed when it comes to reading and interpreting labels on dog food. An owner may purchase a bag of food because it states it is nutritionally complete. This is often a misconception. Retail pet food must meet the standards of the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO), and despite the fact that a bag of food states that it is formulated to meet the nutrition established by the AAFCO doesn't necessarily make it a nutritionally sound diet for your pet.

Terms like "guaranteed analysis", "digestibility", and "nutritional adequacy" can easily confuse a pet owner causing them to purchase something that is appealing by the color of the bag or perhaps they have seen it on television. There have been studies that link diet to certain health issues such as cancer and heart disease.

We at Bow Wow U are very health conscientious with our pets and have read in many publications that bad foods can cause cancer, allergic reations, behavioral issues, skin disorders, and immunity issues not to mention dull, flaky coats and lethargic dogs.
