Shellsea Moves to the Head of the Class!
One of the best perks that I did not anticipate was that I would not be able to take Shellsea to 2 of the classes and so Sue stepped up and although I felt OK the 3rd time that she worked the dog, I saw the bonding between them and I heard the joy in Sue's voice that she was now a part of the team and now Shellsea was closer to her too. That's what it's all about, eh? We know you will continue to make significant positive changes for animals and their owners by giving them the tools to succeed and the encouragement to continue the process if they are to enjoy a long life with a well behaved member of the family. --Linda Ferris, Sue, and Shellsea
Terra Spray Makes Indie "Bear"able I live in the Northwest hills of Connecticut. Country living offers not only beauty and serenity but an abundance of wildlife. We have been frequented by turkeys, deer, fox, owls, coyotes, moose and most recently, bear.
She had to rubbed/washed and dried and washed again at least 4 times. Even then, the odor still lingered. I didn't know what to do. Then I remembered I had a bottle of Terra Spray from Bow Wow University. Voila! I sprayed it on her neck/chest area. She instantly smelled better, and by the end of the day, there was no more trace of odor! I spray it on my hands and then rub it on her fur so she won't try to shake it off. Life is good and once again she smells like she should. THANK YOU Bow Wow University! --Angie B. & Indie
Filet Mignon Was Just the Icing on the Cake We sent our 15 month old Boxer, Max to "Resident Obedience Training" with Lynn. At the time, he had been through Puppy Kindergarten and Beginner Obedience with success, but it just seemed that something wouldn't click. I called Lynn for information and immediately felt comfortable with her. Max spent three weeks at Lynn's house where he was treated like one of her own even sharing in a Birthday dinner of Filet Mignon with the other dogs. In the twenty one days, he mastered the basics responding to both verbal commands and hand signals, which were taught to us in three follow-up classes with Lynn. As well as knowing a great deal about obedience training, we found that Lynn had a lot of knowledge about the different breeds, diet and exercise and medical conditions. Overall, we couldn't be happier with Max's progress. We are enjoying him even more now that he knows the basic commands, and hope to continue his training with Lynn. --Kendra C. & Max
We couldn't have chosen a better trainer Our dog Sam stayed at the University for some training. We were at our wit's end. He was pulling constantly and was biting the leash everytime we took him out. Our daily walks subsided to just brief yard walks as we couldn't control his bad behaviors. We contacted Bow Wow U and without their help, I think we would have considered surrendering him to a rescue. Though I love him so much, it was THAT bad. In three weeks, Sam would return to us as a brand new dog. I met with the owner Lynn Whittaker for three private lessons following his visitation with her,so she and Sam could teach me what was needed, and I could not be happier. Sam is now going to obtain his Canine Good Citizen Certificate as a result of Bow Wow U. The level of care and professionalism for our needs was amazing. I will recommend Bow Wow U to anyone I should ever meet who needs training assistance. Thanks Bow Wow U!! --Delores C. & Sam
We were at the end of our rope Our dog Cooper is a 4 yr old pound dog we rescued. He came into our home and totally took over. After having recently been bitten by him, we decided upon the suggestion of a friend to call Lynn at Bow Wow U. She was amazing with him. We thought our "Cujo" was going to go after her, but moments later he was seated at her side and he was getting attention and affection. Lynn herself came to our home for three private lessons, and each time she came we learned more about how wonderful Cooper really was. Part of his aggression was fear and the other part was that he was suffering from a horrible ear infection that Lynn discovered on the first night!! We asked her to do some energy work on him and she said that she felt his ears were hot. Though mind you she never touched them, she was able to "feel" the energy coming from him. I was amazed at her intuitive connection and sensitivity to Cooper. We also took her up on the suggestion to use Lavender Oil when he was stressed. Worked like a charm!! He also suffers from some arthritis which we have now discoverd through Lynn, and he is being treated for that by our vet and he is a new dog! Thank you Lynn and her wonderful talents! --Jim Z. & Cooper
Bow Wow U gave me hope My name is Nadia and I have a 4 year old mastiff mix. I adopted her from my local shelter a year ago. I have taken her for obedience training, and she and I were asked to leave more than once. Mina does not like other dogs or strange people, I tried a private lesson with a local trainer and it proved to be disasterous. Mina tried to drag the trainer around and she turned on him. I felt that, my next alternative was to put her down. I love my dog but I could not live in fear either. She was too big to handle and she was also tearing up my home. I was on the internet one day and found Bow Wow U. I called in for an over the phone behavioral consultation, I was desperate and thought at this point I had nothing to lose. I was certainly surprised when I had my consultation. Lynn was TELLING me things that Mina was doing without my even saying anything about her. I was astonished by her diagnostic skills. Our phone conversation lasted an hour, and in that time I learned more things than I could have learned from several private lessons. Public classes were too much, for Mina, and she AND I needed to take baby steps. Bow Wow U located a trainer for me in PA and I have been doing private lessons for 4 months now. You would think that I had a twin dog hidden somewhere as Mina became my best friend for life. It was through the consultation that Lynn said that Mina had irritable or ideopathic aggression and that in order for her to ever be around other dogs, that I would have to take everything and break the training down into small steps. Mina was taking advantage of me with her size and she clearly knew it. I am small in size and Mina is 110lbs. I can now walk down the sidewalk without fear that Mina will attack anything that comes near her. My local trainer has been able to introduce his dog to Mina and for the first time I saw her run and play with another dog!! Lynn Thank you for the words of encouragement, for the wonderful behavior modification techniques you gave. Your skills should be recognized. I would have never thought that a PHONE CALL could have changed my life as well as Mina's. You saved both of us! --Nadia T. & Mina
Aromatherapy for a dog who hated men -- who knew? I must tell you that upon my initial private lesson with Lynn at Bow Wow U, I was skeptical when she gave me a bottle of some potion she called "Tranquilitea." I wasn't sure if she was for real or not, so I asked "If it smelled nice, could I use it for a room deodorizer?" She smiled as if she had heard it all before, and I went on my way. Captain has been with me since he was a puppy and is now 5. My biggest problem is that I am divorced and I have entered the dating scene only to determine that Captain does NOT like men visiting my home. He gets full of himself, paces, and his fur raises up when someone comes in the house. I will never find Mr. Right with the Captain running my house, so I contacted Lynn. We addressed several training techniques. She showed me how to introduce Captain to my guests and she instructed me to spray this potion in the air 5-10 minutes before my company arrived. Well the first time I used it, Captain was immediately attracted to the aroma as was I. Company arrived and Captain was a perfect gentleman! I laughed myself silly thinking about this magic in a bottle. My date even thought the house smelled oh so good! (I told him it was the unscented candle I was burning; I didn't dare tell him it was to keep Captain from biting him!) I spray it in the house all the time and I FEEL better and less anxious. The Magic Potion really does exist, and I got it at Bow Wow U. I have used this in the car when I take Captain to the vets, and he has significantly improved in the car. He would shed alot, pant and sometimes vomit. The Tranquilitea has saved me alot of frustrations. Who knew that something that smelled so good could do such wonderful things!! Thanks for all you have done, and keep up the good work with us skeptics! --Bonnie A. & Captain |
